Just wanted to give everyone an update in what i have experienced with Callahan brakes.
Let me give a little history. I have ordered 4 sets of calipers for 3 different cars, rotors, pads and wheel bearings from them. ONE of those was for my 4runner. I had a problem with my Powerstop rotors( their customer service was great). They covered the rotors and pads no problem after 1 year and 4 months. As I was changing them i noticed a problem with the Callahan calipers I changed at the same time.the piston seals were badly cracked. I have changed alot of calipers in my career and never saw this. Even on the bad 4runner calipers i have changed did not have this issue.
So i called Callahan, they said that there is only a year warranty. So I went into my explanation that this is not normal and possibly there is a bad set of seals. Now i realize that i am only 4 months after the expired warranty but this failure is not normal in this timeframe. I contacted amazon where I bought them and they were very helpful and they got nowhere. You would think that they would realize this is not a usual failure and give some sort of assistance or at least work with me on the issue.
Also when i called Powerstop the customer service rep asked if i changed the calipers and I told them I used Callahan and he seemed to know about them. Awhile back I did some poking around and i found paperwork online that showed powerstop owns Callahan.
