Too many people don't wear their best watches because they are afraid of ruining them. Crying shame having nice watches sit in a drawer at home. Use gives them character and meaning when you pass them on to family.

Personally, i would stay away from pre-owned luxury items...but you probably won't listen to me...again.

My HERO is back!!! The air smells sweeter already!! Lots to catch up on. Luxury items are BEST when preowned when one knows what they're doing. Believe it or not, a Deepsea Sea Dweller may be in my near future. Good times ahead!! I'm STOKED that Thai is back! Need to buy another 4Runner to celebrate. For those that don't know him, you're in for a real treat. HAPPY HALLOWEEN ALL!!

The Oris is a really nice watch too and there's absolutely nothing wrong with them. They don't have the name recognition of a Rolex or Omega, but the craftsmanship is very high. Beautiful simplicity - which is why I love dive watches to begin with and never get them with all the extra dials on the face.

Makes sense. Probably the same design/construction elements that keep the water out make it resist the shockwave. [MENTION=66316]1engineer[/MENTION] could tell us for sure along with schematics, flowcharts, spreadsheets, and maybe even a Venn diagram

Totally agree. Oris makes a great watch. I have one of their TT1 diver dates as well and thus the reason why I've stayed away from sinking into one luxury watch. I just get torn every now and again when I see the PO.....but then I usually come back to my senses.

my Timex met it's untimely doom when it got smashed helping lift a 99 4Runner. Thinking a G-Shock or Luminox as my replacement? Thoughts? Looking for a resin band, analog face with date. Alarm function is a plus but not required. Budget is under $150, as this watch will get the holy hell beat out of it.

It's about $50 over your budget, but I use one at work and I love this watch. I like the silver background, it makes it easier to see the time in the daylight.
