That's a big pic... Yes, it can be done.
Two steps: 1) get and install a switch 2) wire DVD wire that needs to go to parking brake to the switch.
When DVD is on press the switch and you got movies on the go.
Good luck.

I used another DAC button from toyota to get factory look (some modification to install needed):

check your local laws. here, if the dvd screen is visible to the driver and a movie is playing while the car is in motion, it's illegal (even if it's for the passenger). dvd/nav screen combos okay for nav screens.

screens BEHIND the driver's head are okay while car is in motion.

thanks for the help! Ill check the local laws but not that worried about it, would only really use it on long trips :lookout:

As far as local law goes, it is illegal: to spit on sidewalk, for puppy to take a dump at the beach, for home owner to kill intruder, for my GSX-R to surpass 75Db noise level, and more related to remove carbon filter from intake... and many more. The point is - my passenger can watch movie while shotgun and not from the back seat. If that's the worst crime people done around here, we would be one safe country...

When you started talking about dumb laws I was almost certain you were going to copy and paste the Utah State Constitution. I like so much about this place, but the law situation just about tips the balance. If I didn't have so many years in the state pension system........

so after about 3 hours of frustration... I got it to work and it is great! I ended up using a switch and a relay. The relay is suppose to delay so the unit thinks the break is on... that would not work right... Added the switch, and I just flip it on and you can watch DVD's and access all of the BT features. Sorry for the blurry pic.

Sorry this is off topic but how did you do the re-label on that switch? Does it light up still? The cruiser guys have a good method (an a whole printable document of good labels for off-roading equipment), but it's for the older switches not like ours.

Strange

Hmm... dunno why you'd need to mess with a relay, switch, etc..

I just grounded the park-detect wire from my Kenwood when I installed mine.

Works for me.

I was wondering the same thing. 1. Ground parking switch wire. 2. Watch DVD anytime (disclaimer: Not while driving. Professional driver on closed course. Your mileage may vary. etc.).

The older pioneer decks could just use the ground. I have an old avh-6700 and am able to do this. The new decks won't work with that method anymore. I used a relay when I've installed the latest models out now with this method in this video.

you have to have the switch... the wire has to be hooked to a positive 12 volt wire after you that radio turns on. SO no you can not just hook into a power supply. The relay is there because it gives it a couple second delay, so the radio thinks you are engaging the parking break. The switch is there so it thinks you disengaged then reengaged the parking brake. Pioneer and its new units they want you to engage disengage then reengage the parking brake so you can watch movies, that is why the whole thing is so complicated. Believe me I would of rather just been able to ground it. :)

Where to find an extra DAC button???

I love this setup. I just purchased and installed the Pioneer AVH-P3200BT and integrated the steering wheel controls and love it. I installed a bypass for the movies, but would like to try a setup like you have with the extra DAC button. Where did you order one from? How much was it? Thanks!

$54.00 from local dealer. I could order $10.00 generic switch, but factory look is well worth it.
