Water in sunroof

So I was switching the floor mats out today and noticed that the driver side floor by the pedals was wet. They just did the cut pedal recall the other day so I was wondering if they cleaned the floor or something and it just hasn't dried yet. Later in the day I got in it after it had been dumping rain and heard a dripping sound above and saw water in the front of the sunroof. Nothing else was wet and it wasn't dripping into the truck, just the metal in the front of the sunroof and there is no rust anywhere. I did some reading and read some conflicting things about where the drains go. Is it normal the get water up there or not? My last car had a sunroof and I never noticed water but I also never really looked much. Sorry if the picture isn't great, it's the best I could get.

Drain tube for ds is inside the body cavity behind kick panel at drivers feet. Remove the plastic panel and in the cavity behind all the wiring you will find the clear plastic soft drain tube. It can easily be dislodged from its lowest hole thru the floorboard and this will case wet floor. Easy fix with tiny hands to slip it back into place

I had the same problem and got some weedeater cord and ran down through the drain lines, cleaned them all while I was at it. So far no more leaks.

When it finally stopped raining I was able to open it and clean it.

did you clean the exit holes too? and confirm that the tube is inserted thru the cab floorboard? Upper holes get dirty and can clog, but the lower drain hole is the one causing your wet floor

Damn mouse chewed a hole through one of my sunroof drain tubes causing major leakage! Check the entire line, clean it, and test it.

Not yet, it was getting dark and there is lots of rain in the forecast so I will have to wait for some sun.

So I took it back to Toyota and explained to them that this water on the floor was new since it was there for service last week, it doesn't smell and there is no staining so it is a new leak, and the guy in the fancy red shirt came out and very condescendingly explained to me that there is no drain from the sunroof on the drivers side. When I told him that there actually is one he started explaining to me how they shaved some of the pedal off for the recall like he was speaking to a 4 year old and then tried to brush me off and said I needed to take it back to the place I bought it from because it wasn't their problem. He also said it could be the heater core and when I told him it didn't smell he had no answer. I told him no, they needed to fix it and he went inside and when he came back out he was much nicer and confirmed that I was right and there is a drain on that side and he offered to clear the drains with compressed air. When he was done he said he poured a bunch of water down them to make sure they were draining and of course when I pull up the floor mat it is completely soaked when it was dry before. I will be taking it to a closer dealership this next week to have them look at it.
I'm so sick of people talking to me like I'm a complete idiot, at this point I'm pretty sure there is a sign on my forehead that says "I'm an idiot"..... How do I stop coming off as completely stupid to people, especially men at car related places?? Am I dressing wrong?? I don't get it. :mad2::mad2: /end rant lol

You may want to go back and tell the idiot in the fancy red shirt that they should never clear those drain lines with compressed air,
this is especially true with the rear drain lines, because if there is a clog in the lines it can separate the drain lines from the fittings
going to the one final rear drain hose and the water will then drain into the head liner!!

I'm not sure it would be an issue for the fronts but I know from experience on the rear drains!!:redbrick:

Am I not explaining the problem correctly? Because every person I've explained it to says the same thing, "Oh the drain is clogged, it's really common, just clean it". But to me I understand if the drain is clogged and the water pools in the lip of the sunroof the water would be leaking from above, right? If the water is coming out under the floor mat, what does that have to do with a clogged drain? it clearly isn't clogged because the water made it all the way to the floor under the mat and on the ground outside but nothing else is getting wet.
