Water pump - help!?

Hey All,

So, I took my '08 4R (V6 SE) in to the dealer today for it's 70k oil change and they told me I have a leak in my waterpump. They quoted $678, which sounds high to me. A couple of questions:

1) What is a fair price for a new waterpump and install? (what is the breakdown of parts and labor and how many labor hours should they be billing me?)

2) Should I have them do the timing belt as well, since they are in there already or should I wait to do the timing belt? If I should do the timing belt too, how much extra should I pay (I'm guessing I should have to pay less than if I were just doing the timing belt, since they already down there -- what is the parts cost and labor cost breakdown of a timing belt replacement)

3) Is there anything else I should have them do, if they replace the waterpump, that will save me in the future (anything else that makes sense to do since they are doing the waterpump already)

Any pricing advice or otherwise would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

1) It sounds fair but only if you need it. I'd get 2nd opinion.
2) There is no Timing Belt in 4th gen V-6. It has chain. Don't replace it.
3) Nope. If nothing else broken - don't fix it.
