Waxing around the badging, how?

I have found with every car that I own that when I try waxing it I can't ever get the wax out of any badging on the vehicle and it looks like crap. How do you guys do it? I was thinking abou waxing the whole thing and going around he emblems and then going over it afterwards with the same cloth that I waxed with. That way I get the shine but hopefully not the leftover wax. Any suggestions?

Debadge the puppy, makes it so much cleaner and easier....

I like the badging on mine, especially with the black coloring. I will just have to work around it the best that I can. Thanks guys.

You can also use a soft bristle tooth brush for getting the wax out of there. I have been using one for years and it works great. Of course the easiest solution is to debadge.

Get yourself some 3M painters tape, the blue kind. Tape off everything you don't want wax to gunk up on. Then remove when finished. To remove residue from within the badge a SOFT bristle toothbrush will do the trick. For stubborn wax use some 50/50 water and alcohol along with your toothbrush or a cotton swab.

I have always used a soft-bristled toothbrush. Go ahead and wax up to it and when it dries, just clean it w/ the toothbrush.

Or reduce the work by partially debadging;on my 3rd gen I've removed the "TOYOTA" and the "SR5" from the tailgate and now with just "4Runner" on the left and "4wd" on the right it just looks cleaner and is easier to clean. To get to the hard parts I just use a soft but firm paint brush to clean in the nooks but I don't really wax the nooks since buildup is a pain to get out.

just my opinion but the truck came with to much badging to begin with, all i left is the toyota emblem front and rear, gived it a much cleaner stealth look.
