WB880 08 V8 SR5 4X4 Build Thread

In December of 08 I picked up a 2008 V8 SR5 4x4 in Galactic Grey Mica.

I immediately put on an OME suspension with 885's up front and 895's in the rear. It rode great and gave me a very level 2.5 to 3 inches of lift. I had this set up for about 5000 miles until I put on an ARB front bumper.

I then installed OME 886's in the front and brought the front end back up where it should be.

I also made a cheesy lock box in the back to secure items.

In August of this year I made the trip to Idaho for my CBI rear bumper.

This week I finished the rear bumper by installing the fuel can holder, and upgrading my tires to 265/70/r17 Goodyear Duratracs in the E load range.

More mods to come: exhaust modification, sliders, 9000lbs+ winch, arb rear air locker.

Need some spacers to push the wheels out so they don't look so small. Nice rig too.

Just adding to my build thread.

After reading a thread on here that the V6 TRD Exhaust needed slight modification to fit the V8 I went ahead and ordered one.

I wanted a TRD single side exit exhaust for the following reasons:

1. Eliminate the smell coming in the back window when down.
2. Have better clearance off road.
3. Have a little deeper/throatier sound.

The exhaust is an exact bolt up, but the pipe between the y-pipe and the muffler needs to be trimmed about 2.5 to 3 inches.

I had mine cut just behind where it bolts up to the y-pipe, and shortened up to just in front of the first hanger. Worked out great and sounds great.

On surface streets it sounds good and not too loud, on the highway while doing about 2000 to 2200 rpms (around 70mph for me) I don't even hear it over the wind noise.
