WD hitch issues? Shocks vs. Air Bags?

Another newbee post:
I had read on several posts here that you should not use WD hitch with the 5th generation 4runner? I contacted Toyota about his, and they said they have no recommendation around this other than to stay under the 5000lb max. Has anyone had issues using a WD hitch on the 2011 4runner?

Also, I just started towing our first camper about a month ago. It is a Jayco JayFeather Sport 17Z. Weighs about 3500 loaded, with a tongue weight I would estimate at around 460lbs. With the WD hitch I get a very slight sag (1"-2"), but a noticible bouncy ride (slow rear end bounces when driving). I am thinking of putting a pair of Timbrens SES in the rear, but wanted to see if folks here had thoughts/experience around this, or should I consider the option of doing something with the shocks?

I don't think anyone makes a WD setup for the 5th gen yet. I have a boat and a Jayfeather 19H that I tow.

I installed an Airlift 1000 airbag kit, and it works great!

I second the Airlift 1000's. I also put in an auxiliary transmission cooler and a brake controller. Everything works well with no issues.

Hey Antman,
Thanks for the feedback and the link to the pics, looks very nicely done. Like I said am I newbee to towing, and I am not sure what you mean by no WD set up for the 5th gen? I have a Reese Pro WD hitch (800lb bars), on a drop hitch, with a sway control bar attached. The RV dealer hooked it up for me, and it does eliminate 95% of the sag in the back. Thanks

Yeah, I was confused at first too. Lots of people on here helped me out! I'm referring to the hitch bolted to the frame of your 4Runner. It's a standard hitch, not a WD hitch...
