IMO, replacing ignition wires is cheap insurance, sort of like "while you in there you might as well" but I agree that plugs are more of a wear item than wires - unless the wires are hella old, jackets dried and cracked or you see sparking in the engine bay in the dark.

I replaced my ignition wires along with the plugs because they were $28 and I was chasing codes. Turned out to be a bad coil, but I'm sure new wires didn't hurt.

If anyone wants my old, factory wires, I'll send them in a USPS flat rate box for the price of shipping :laugh:

The only reason I replaced my original wires in 2010 @ around 140,000 miles is because one of them had a crack. I have Napa's in there since but will change to NGK when I change my plugs in the spring. I have about 21,000 on these plugs but will put in new when the S/C goes on. :dancin:

Maybe this was the culprit. #6 plug connector is physically cracked with a hole burned through, as if it were shorting... Whoa. Glad I ordered and installed that "just 'cuz" wires.

Ya think! If you changed your plugs every 30,000 you might have caught that crack before it started shorting.

It's nice to see another original owner here. There's not many of us left.
Your 2000 Sport 5 Speed with only 120,000 miles is not a very desirable 4Runner, you should sell it to me. :bigok:

Have you seen much VR porn? Production costs with this rig would be a little hefty. Most adult VR content so far is currently just stereoscopic 180.

I got a sense of just how worthless our rig was when both the service writer and the tech who did our timing belt at Toyota Santa Cruz implored to give them right of first refusal if I decided to sell. :rofl:

Seems like every time I read an article or watch news about VR, there is a major porn component to it. I guess I just assumed that what everyone really loves about virtual reality — is viewing porn and roller-coaster rides.
