Weak Rear Air?

Since new, the force of rear air (heat, a/c) is pretty weak...I can barely feel it at high fan speeds. Is this typical for the 4Runner?

There is a shut off dial that maybe partially closed.

depends on what you are used to... The old 4runners and some other vehicles (GMC/Ford) have rear fans to help move the air through those vents. Toyota 4Runner (4th gens) only have one fan for the entire system which pushes out the front and rear vents. The longer the push (to the rear vent) the weaker the air velocity leaving the vent.

Yea, I'm aware of the dial and it is set correctly.

I am glad this is raised.

I want to have this fixed if it is proved to be a defective.

There is a black rectangular duct that runs past the shifter under the plastic panel. The panel pulls up without removing any screws, check to see if the seals on the duct are straight. Mine had folded over and mis-aligned the duct. The leakage it created surprisingly was significant.

No luck....I checked the duct and it was seated correctly. I guess I'm stuck with weak air for passengers.

Is there any way to take the assembly apart? Maybe an actual obstruction in the duct or near the main fan? Stuck KIRIN beer cap maybe at time of assembly?

Close one or two of your vents in the dash. This will allow more air to the rear.
