Weather channel roof strips

Most of mine are damaged from the roof rack installed so I took them off. I have silicon sealed the rack mount points. Do I need them?

I was thinking more about the longer strips that fill the slots on either side of these roof rack mounts/deletes.

Doesn't seem like a total necessity to have as mine blew off during a car wash and I rolled most of this winter without it.
