weathertech floor MATS? OR weathertech floor LINERS?

Anyone tried both, or know someone with the other? to know which ones are better? I kinda like how the LINERS make a giant cup to catch everything, but i think the MATS are nicer looking...

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Personally, I like the oem rubber mats. Gives the interior a more appealing look compared to the liners IMO. See my profile for pictures of mine.

yeah, my dad has those in his tundra, but they dont make them for my 99 I was told at the stealership...I will look into it, cuz I like the way they look, too...

I don't see why they wouldn't fit?? Are the contours of the floor not the same in all 3rd Gens? If there is a difference, I'm sure it's minimal at best. Get them, you should be fine.

man, i know u guys want something that covers the whole carpet. but i have the cheep floormats from walmart that cost like 5 bucks.... they are from 1996 and still have not changed, still tough, deep trapping wells for water and dirt. alltho they dont protect all the carpet in the back, they sure are nice!!!

After my wallet slowly refills from christmas, I am planning on getting those tan weathertech liners. I've had those deep channel walmart ones for about 7 years now. The rear walmart ones always end up under my seat by the time I get to cleaning it out. Also, right where the floor mat ends is where my floor boards collect the most dirt/pebbles. True those oem ones look nicer, but I would rather have full protection.

I owned a '99 4Runner about 2yrs ago and I don't remember the contours of the floor being any different.

On second thought, do you mean the black mats will contrast with your color interior? If so, then yeah, black would probably not look best.

No, i the pictures of his interior, it looks a little different, but I will take it from u guys that its not...

and I like the way the black contrasts to my oak color carpet

Definitely go with the liner style if you live in area with a lot of snow or if you get mud on your feet often.

I had a puddle trapped in my Husky liners recently from snow that melted off of my shoes. If those had been mat style, my carpet would have been nasty.

haha I live in bright sunny Southern California, where there is no snow, and RARELY ever mud...

Yeah, I'd probably have liners too if I tracked a lot of debris into my 4Runner, but I don't...so the oem rubber mats work great for my situation. Not only that, but they look good too

Definately go with the liners got mine on a day where it snowed and I was shocked all the crap you drag onto your carpet. They also fit perfectly and cover the whole footwell.
