Weathertech side window deflectors 4th Gen

Question:

Has anyone installed the WeatherTech in Channel style window deflectors on a 4th Gen and successfully gotten the auto up to work on the drivers side window after installing them?

They install fine, but no matter what I try, when you use the auto up feature on the window, it will go all the way up, hit the resistance of the deflector and then come half way back down and stop.

The window will raise up fine if you don't try to use the auto feature. I am a big fan of this feature.

Weathertech's answer is that they haven't seen this happen before on a 4 runner and to leave the window up for 24 hours and it should work. That didn't work for me.

Thanks

There is a thread regarding wind deflectors on this board where other members had the same problem while others did not. Hope you are able to get it sorted out, they look sweet.

i have weathertech in-channel on my 06 4R too, did you leave the window closed for at least 24 hours, that way the weathertech mold the channel along with the window glass.

hold the weathertech while windows goes up, then leave it alone for at least 24 hours.

My problem is that no matter what I do while using the auto feature, I can't get the window to stay up.

I have tried pulling the weathertech outwards to put less pressure where the window first hits, grabing the glass as it comes up and assisting it up but each time the window makes a contact and then comes back down 1/2 way.

I finally just rolled the window up manually and left it for a couple of days but still the same thing happens.

Weathertech even sent me a 2nd deflector (which I appreciated) but no difference.

Get some 3M doublesided sticky tape (OSH carries them) and apply a little strip to the section that is catching onto the window. After you get the window to roll up all the way, leave it closed for 24hrs (again) and you should be good to go.

I have them on mine.

When I first put them up, the window would come back down. But after they seated themselves the window works fine.

I've had them for about 2 years now.
