Weathertech Sunroof Visor

Has anyone installed one of the Weathertech Sunroof Visors on a 4th generation? I was thinking about ordering one and was wanting some feedback. Thanks.

I have one. I don't really know what it's doing other than I can open the sunroof a little if I smoke and the window noise isn't as bad.

It mounts sturdily too, don't know much else to say about it

just an observation...........

Although I never installed one, I wouldn't for a few reasons;

1) Roof drainage. When it rains and you brake, tons of water drain onto the windshield. Having a deflector will allow "pooling" of water and a surprise waterfall when you open your sunroof up. Remember that a 4th gen's nose is "drooped downward" unlike previous generations. Water will naturally flow toward the nose when braking or after the truck has been sitting after it rains.
2) Keeping them clean. Debris/leaves can/will accumulate there. I've seen it many times on other cars
3) Wind buffering: I can't comment on this, but I figure why if the 4Runner ALREADY comes with an automatic retractable wind deflector (pretty neat if you observe it work).

I haven't seen the sunroof visor, but Weathertech makes the very best stuff. I have been to their factory in suburban Chicago and they are truly top notch.

Thanks for the feedback. Reason I was thinking of getting one is to reduce the wind noise. Wife has one on her '08 Accord and it difinetely helps. But, it is OEM. I don't think Toyota makes a OEM one for the 4Runner.

I have one and it's great!

It totally eliminates that 'Is a helicopter landing on top of me' sound that you get when you have the sunroof open!

I can drive down the freeway now with the sunroof all the way open and still talk with people in the back.

I had my dealer install one on my 07 T4R and it made a huge difference in quieting down the noise from outside. Big difference in wind too. Now I need to remove the factory cross bars as I use a Yakima set-up.
