I have a 1997 Limited with 225000km. In the past month I've replaced shocks, springs, new brakes, ABS sensor, complete flush and refill of all the fluids and rotated tires. Timing belt and water pump have been done three times and are not due for a long while.
Now I have this noise and feeling in the steering wheel that was not present before I performed all this maintenance. The feeling and noise is nearly identical as the noise and feeling you get when you're stopped and turn the steering wheel to full lock in either direction and hold it against the stops. The noise is very hydraulic sounding if that makes sense. It's also much louder and the feeling in the wheel is much stronger when i start the car after it has been sitting for a while. After driving for 5+ minutes the sound and feeling in the wheel diminish, but never disappear entirely.
I'm at a complete loss for as to what it could be. My only thoughts are steering rack and ball joints. Any ideas?
