weird noise when driving

I have a 99limited with 150k. just noticed the other day it makes a kind of whirling noise when i drive. I suspect it is probably a hub or wheel bearing going bad. Is there any way to troubleshoot this without just replacing parts. The noise seems to go up and down with the speed of the vehicle. Seems like it is worse when its colder out

Probably a bearing. I would suspect a rear axle bearing before anything else because of the leaky axle seal issues.
