weird sound from engine

AC was acting up and a strange noise coming from the engine. Well the AC finally went out and sound is still being made. No codes have been thrown. Not running hot. Any ideas? Thanks

what is the noise? clicking, poppng, tapping, squealing, etc...

My ac has gone and I likely need a new compressor/clutch but the ac button accidentally got turned on the other day and it cause mine to make a terrible noise from the engine bay but I just assumed it was a fryed compressor. It almost sounds like a winding grinding type of noise.

AC isn't blowing, hot air comes through when turned on, the green light on the AC switch doesn't even come on anymore. The noise is more of a whiny noise but then sounds like underpressure cause if I'm stopped at a stop sign/ red light- says like it's cooking off and will make a very loud POP unless I turn the AC off...when I was running it-but still makes the sound. Now I run 5WD55 but is not good with two young kids
