Weird sound when braking

I drive an 05 4Runner with only 6500 miles and I started noticing a weird sound since yesterday morning. As soon as I brake, I hear a creaking/clicking sound from driver's front side. This is a kind of sound that is hard to describe but its definitely doesn't sound like brake disc or rotor related. Also, I don't feel anything through the brake paddle as well. Kindly let me know if one of you have experienced something similar.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Does it happen when you start the truck in the morning and then go away? I find that when I leave my truck in the damp or cold, rust builds up on the rotors and you hear a groaning noise until it burns off. It sounds really nasty.

I did notice it both times in the morning and didn't hear anything when I left work. In the morning the sound did last through 3 miles of driving.

That sounds like rust on your rotors. Does the noise mostly occur when you are just starting to roll or when your foot is slightly on the brake? I know the way you feel because I thought something was seriously wrong when I heard that noise for the first time.

Brake fluid still good? If not, pour some and the noise might go away. Happened to my mom's minivan. It solved the problem quickly ;):

I had/have the same problem... basically when i brake lightly I hear a clicking sound. Same frequency and time interval everytime I brake. last time i brought in my runner they changed out my pads and turned my rotors. It went away and now its back. I am taking it in tom. morning.
