Weird Tranny Issue

Yesterday night I got out of work and it was 4 degrees out. I fired the truck up and let it warm up for a few minutes and drove away. Everything was normal until I hit the expressway. It would not shift into OD. About a mile down the road it shifted into OD and was fine for the rest of the night and the next day. Tonight it was 12 degrees out and the truck did the exact same thing. Could their be an issue with my tranny that I should worry about? Is it just to cold and the computer is holding off shifting until the tranny temp gets up more? It would be pointless to bring it to the dealer as they would not be able to replicate the problem unless they have a huge freezer to park my truck it. By the way It is a 2004 4wd Limited with 57000 miles on it. Any help would be appreciated.

Yep, that's it. If you need verification, it's in the manual.

Yes, both the engine coolant and the trans fluid have to come up to certain temperatures before it will shift into overdrive.
