Weirdness and Confusion

My 220,000 mile 4runner is confusing me with symptoms and I could use some opinions!

First off, occasionally, when backing up slowly, I would notice a metal click coming from somewhere under the vehicle. Perhaps it was a differential or some gear area... I'm not sure. Sounded like middle of the truck or back. But it was rare and NBD.

I just took my truck to have the 4WD fluids done, and when I got it back I noticed that the gear-type clicking sound occurs every time I reverse, and every single time I turn slowly right or left. I don't know the root of the issue, but it does concern me a bit. I have had people riding with me ask "what is that?" FOR THE RECORD, it sounds very similar to the sound made when I engage my E-locker when wheeling.

Also since the 4WD service, my truck has been leaking fluid from the connection of the driveshaft and the transfer case (I believe that is labeling that part correctly). It leaks a little 3 inch stain on my driveway at night.

Any idea on the mechanical clicking/popping whenever I turn sharply or reverse at slow speed? Any idea on the cause of the leak? Could they be connected?

Both these concerns developed the moment I took my truck back from the routine maintenance. Thanks!

EDIT: One thing I'm also wondering for the clicking is the E-locker. Very recently I engaged it while one wheel was suspended up hill, and it clicked in HARD and lurched the truck forward. Could this be attributable?

Pic of where the leak is would help identify parts. FYI, I never hear my locker engage or disengage. So that may be an issue if you're hearing yours.

Could be the U-joint in the drive shaft. Use OEM U-joints if you plan to replace it. Do you hear after greasing the U-joints (all 3)?

A leak cannot appear suddenly. May be the oil repair guy didn't install the crush washer at the fill or drain bolt (don't tight the bolt too much as it can crack the transfer case). I think the torque is about 24 pounds-foot. May be the Oil seal is leaking. Again, use OEM oil seal.

Transfer case fluid leak. Sounds like a partially engaged or disengaged xcase. Bet that fluid leak might have slowly started to kill your xcase. Grinding metal on metal gear sounds are never good when coming from the xcase.
