Welder recommendation in San Diego needed

Ordered a set of rock sliders from Stubbs; HD-SKO for my 99 SR5 T4R. Looking for contact information for a an experienced and fair welder in the San Diego, CA area. A Middle or South County welder is preferred. You know our T4Rs don't get great gas mileage.

I had The Truck Shop do some custom fabrication/welding for my tire swing out, plus I had them weld on some shackle mounts on my front bumper. They did a great job, I'm sure they could help you out.

They are good. They're in Mira Mar, so you'll have to drive a bit, but it's worth it!

You are looking at 150-200 for the Truck Shop to do an install.

I don't know how much they would charge to weld these on, $150-$200 seems high to me because I had them fab & install a full set of sliders for about $400 a few years ago. Prices to change though. Call them and ask.

I called and that was the quote. 89 an hour is the shop rate. Like everything, things are going up.

OP,

I suggest you call and ask if he can do it for $150. Its a privately owned business and they will work with you.

$90 per hour is actually a pretty good rate IMO. :biggrin2:

I hooked him up with my brother out there. Hopefully my brother can find some time away from his rig and get these welded up for him!
