Well after 92,000 miles...

I finally had to replace my tires!

I have to say that these Michelin Cross Terrains were the best wearing tires I've ever had and I barely rotated them as well. The guy at the tire shop couldn't believe I was barely down to the tread wear indicators.

I have been planning on getting them for a while but was procrastinating and decided not to push my luck any further, especially with all the winter weather we have been getting. I got a new set of Cross Terrains at Costco and received an additional $70 off a set of 4 with a promotion they have until Feb 7th.

Most of my miles are highway, but I'm wondering if anyone else has gotten incredible wear from their tires. I couple of other people I talked to said they got about 80k on theirs.


I haven't posted in a while and not much has changed with my 4R, it continues to transport me daily. I did also get my windshield replaced yesterday at Safelite due to an errant rock kicked up from a truck about a month ago. Other than not having the Toyota logo on it their replacement looks identical to the factory glass and the shop did a really nice job of installing it.

How long did it take you to get to 92k?

If it was me it would take over 9 years for me to hit that kinda mileage and I don't really trust tires after 5-6 years and I don't have to worry since my Nittos see about 50k and I'm ready for a new set this spring.

A few weeks short of 5 years.

That's pretty impressive. I got almost 70,000 miles out of my old Cross Terrains. Great tire

I replaced my Cross Terrains at 63k; they didn't need it but I wanted a more aggressive tire. Also I had just bought the truck and wanted to start with a fresh set of rubber; I will say that they rode and drove great, quite and smooth. If I get another set of rims I'm going to put Cross Terrains on them for regular driving.

Michelin Cross Terrains and their SUV/Pickup tire brother the LTX M&S are simply phenomenal tires; quiet, comfortable ride, responsive handling, great off-road, grippy in the rain, snow and mixed driving conditions... and top notch gas mileage.

I had my first set of LTX over 72K miles on with mileage to spare when I replaced them with the same tire. After 20K+ miles on the new ones, they barely showed signs of wear.

With my current Cross Terrains, after 10K miles, they look brand new.

I've heard the Mich's get great longevity. Must be a hard compound .

I'm glad you got that amount of milage out of them.

Personally I dont care how much tread is left 40/50k miles and they are gone. ( no knock against you , just how I am ) . I would like to see more reviews of the Mich AT2's . The people I've talked said they are unstoppable on / off road , excellent traction . One of they guys told me he could not believe how they handled in mud .

I have the LTX M&S on our Tahoe. It does not get used all that much , but so far have shown great ride and wear.
