$3,600 in damage and the insurance company totaled her. I was heart-broken. I know it is crazy but I had just shy of $14K invested. I fought like hell, with the help of a great agent, to get a decent settlement. Word to the wise ..... keep receipts in case you have an insurance claim. It seems a fender bender will total a 3rd gen. Thank God I have a spare one laying around (kidding. I bought this one a while back. It was a good deal and I couldn't turn it down). I won't spend as much on this one. (Second picture: 2000 SR5, King coilovers, Total Chaos UCA, OME Rear springs, 195K mi.) I don't like the wheels on the 2000. Got my eyes on a set of Sema's. Doesn't even look that bad. Sorry for your loss.

Hope you're buying it back with that much invested. Chances are for what you buy it back for you could sell the tires and rims and be pretty close to break even.

They wanted $1,300 for it. I let'em have it. They gave me $9,200 but it took two months to convince them. I figured it was a decent settlement based on what, I think, I could have sold it for.

You never know what type of damage happened underneath but that doesn't look like much damage at all.

Was there an option to keep the truck after getting it totaled?

Regarding the receipts, what type of parts did you have on the truck? I have a small aftermarket parts floater on my truck which actually includes some of my mods which are bolted to the truck.

It did raise my premium, but I know I am covered. Also have receipts for proof. Did you have similar coverage?

This was $3800 and got nowhere near the frame, no suspension damage, no
structural damage (door frame, etc). They fixed it.

Yeah, something seemed a little fishy. All I wanted was to have it fixed but they were bent on totaling it. Repairing it would have been a lot less expensive for them.
