I personally replaced the whole cv axle. There is no messing with grease and the new axle comes with a lifetime warranty.

x3 on replacing the entire CV, seems overkill but it is soooo much easier and quicker. I used the Napa Max drive CVs those have the lifetime warranty.

YES, do the whole axle swap. I did my boots at 100k. Got the boots from Toyota for 80-100$ and the boot clamps are a BI..H seriously. I ended up getting hose clamps but still.... suck!

I think autozone or napa had a sale going for 30% off online orders. two complete axles was $100. steal of a deal, thinking about it I should have just ordered it. Oh well.

Well I caught mine the day it happened so I just did the boots. Honesty it's not much more time than replacing the whole axle. I've heard horror stories of aftermarket axles snapping so I just did boots.
