I want one of those so bad! The wife took one look at the price and laughed at me. It's just so solid. How much did you pick it up for?

I got my Kimber Eclipse Ultra for around $900. They had Ultra Carrys too for the same price but I liked the two tone look and the grips on the Eclipse. I also have a full size 1911 from RIA and I have to say, it's very well built. I think I paid $450 or so for it a few years ago.

After listening and reading-up the last couple days, it sounds like a Feinstein/ Obama-style AWB is very unlikely to make it out of the Senate. Most of the statements coming from even democrats mention very little about "assault weapons" they seem to be concentrating on magazine capacity and background checks. I'm pretty optimistic about this and glad to see the system of checks/ balances might actually work this time! :thumb3:

Yeah that's kind of how I thought this would shake out. There's still a chance but I wouldn't hold my breath. I just hope these prices normalize afterward and don't stay sky high, like these damn gas prices.

At this point I'm starting to see some stock hit stores again online - nothing major but it's there. In the past three days I've seen three different stores offering ARs in the $1500 range and one store had AKs in the 900 range (these guns would typically sell for 30% less). I'm thinking the gun-grab is on the decline, especially since a lot of places stopped accepting back orders. However I'm willing to bet some of these retailers will throttle sales to milk prices as much as possible. It won't be until stock is plentiful and they start competing again before we see better pricing.

As for ammo and accessories, I think the "shortage" will last longer than that of the guns.

Hopefully some of us will find some sweet deals in the years to come from people that snatched up guns without the intention of ever actually firing it.

Just ordered from DSArms... enough for two complete ARs and 6 mags. Now I wait. :faint:

I emailed because they said the mags and BCG would ship soon but I didn't get it, and wanted to make sure they didnt send it to my FFL. I was just told it will be another 12-14 weeks minimum. I need to find some patience. :frog:
