I bent my brackets a little, and put a dent in the bottom right near the brackets off roading one time. I was going pretty crazy, and also pretty close to ruined my stock skid plate. I would say that they are not all that strong, but it should hold up no problem, as long as you dont drive into a tree, or attach a tow rope to it to pull someone out. The weak points are the brackets, the bar itself is pretty tough. I had one of my lights crack, but it just happened for no apparent reason, we were standing in front of the car talking, and the lights were on, and all of a sudden we heard it crack, i think it was because the lights heated up and they were covered with mud and just made the glass so hot it cracked.

last month i was going through a mud bog, that was covered in about 2 inches of pure ice that they broke up and just created into a mud bath, i went through at about 15 mph and the only damage i suffered, was a rock cage off one of my PIAA's fell off. the bar held up great cosidering it was being tortured by so much ice and mud and rock.

Only problem I had was a bent light mounting bracket. Took a bit of pounding later to bend it back right. I don't think it was designed for pulling out stumps, but it will hold up to some abuse.

i got to looking at my bar, and the only complaint i have is the powder coat on the light mounts has chipped a considerable amount.
maybe a possible Line-X in the future?

if you are patient you can get a good price on a stainless that will not rust on eBay. Mine was $70 shipped on ebay, supposedly used but not a scuff on it. Seeing as my mounting brackets are rusting i wouldnt want to buy one that wasnt stainless, you can always buy the stainless and then powdercoat it or linex it, or even one member painted it, to make it black.... i just hate rust.
