What 90,000 miles will do to a Cornfed Lift...

Just a quick write up to show what I have been saying for months. I could swear that my Cornfed lift that I installed a few years back was starting to sag. It wasn't until I got my new ToyTec lift on that I realized how much height I had actually lost.

ABOVE: Cornfed with 21" center hub to bottom wheel well.
BELOW: ToyTec with 24" center hub to bottom wheel well.

For all intents and purposes I had lost 2-3 inches of lift in the front and 1-2 inches of lift in the back. The only thing I have to do now is take her up into the mountains to try it out. For those of you with Cornfed lifts or other spacer lifts...don't freak. I was pretty hard on my truck and it took about four years and upwards of 90K miles to see that much sag. CHEERS! :cheers:

Yep, removed about 200lbs of junk from the shop after I took the picture. The front and rear were each measured to 39" from ground to wheel well. Good Eye!

From what I've read, the plast-dip won't hold up off road so it's a no go for me. I have a buddy that is building a workshop that will include the ability to powder coat wheels. My plan is to keep my wheels but powder coat them black. Won't be done till the winter though. Thanks man.

I bet the ride is very nice now too! Toytecs might cost more, but I am very happy w/ mine.

Nice SR5, I have been wondering about others measurements from ground to wheel well. Mine is sitting at 39.5" (settled from 40") w/ 275/70 BFGs....Sits nice and high!

Well by the cornfed lift sagging, you mean the stock suspension it was installed on.....right? Because I don't think the actual spacers will squish together very much. Except for the rear ones, which, if you pull too much weight, can crumple under very extreme circumstances. But I've only seen that happen once, and you would definitely know it LOL

Anyway, I wonder if the toytec will sag less after 90k than the stock stuff? I guess it just depends on what you put it through. Good luck and the truck looks good!!

Yes, by sagging I mean the stock suspension. I wouldn't think that the aluminum and high strength polymer that the good folks at CornFed use would compress, however whenever you take that stock coil over and induce all that extra material, it didn't surprise me that it would eventually take a toll.
