What 'airs' the air suspension

So i've decided that my struts/springs are fine, after kneeling on each corner of the bumper they only bounce 1 time, that is to return to their resting position with very minimal afterbounce. So i am going to set up a rear air system. However.... after finding all these kits in the 60-80$ range something hit me... what airs up these springs? Can i simply install an air chuck and use an air pump to do this? Do they hold air? Thanks!

Research the kits, in most cases, its just a valve stem like a tire that you use to pump up the shocks/bags. When you get into remote filled/controlled systems you get into compressors and tanks.

yep for air bag systems your going to need to have on board air, along with computers telling you what your levels are, and if theres a problem, and switches and dials to adjust accordingly.

Air ride suspensions are like wanting a lift, your going to need new wheels, tires, shocks, brakes, pads, and depending on how much you lift, brake lines and other lines. So your now new $200 lift kit is up to $3000 easy.

just something to think about . . .

you can get that air bladder that you install inside your existing coil springs and air them up once to your preferred level, this may be a cheap way to add strength, it is difficult to adjust
