What all should I replace when replacing CV axles?

As the title says, what all should I replace while swapping the CV axles? I'm still running on the originals from what I can tell and I feel like the moment I start hitting trails, the 19 year old joints are going to explode. Haha

Are there any seals or other items I should swap at the same time?

When I did mine, I replaced the axle seals and lower ball joints.

This is what on file for the numbers of the seals
Front Differential CV joint Seal (Driver Side) 90311-47027
Front Differential CV joint Seal (Passenger Side) 90311-47013

I used moog lower ball joints so i don't have the part numbers for those :-(

i swapped my rebuilds in when doing the TBU and forgot to order seals and dust covers. Guessing with new ones you dont have to worry about this

Great thought on the Caliper dust covers, But don't you have to pull the hub out of the bearings to change those on the Front? Unless you are referring to the CV joint dust covers, I couldn't find those or buy them when I changed mine out. :-{

LBJ's
LCA bushings
7.5 ECGS clamshell bushing
Outer diff/cv seals
Drain and fill front diff
Since it will be on jackstands,
Poly rack bushings.

They won't explode unless you are doing some really crazy stuff. The boots may leak and that's it.

If you are swapping CVs, it is reasonable to do the seals. Consider new OEM lower ball joints since you have to halfway remove them when doing the axles.

Personally, I don't think you will need to do axles at all. I'd do new lower ball joints before axles...

OEM Lower ball joints was one of the first things I had done. :jump:

So you think the cv's are okay? I just don't want to break anything haha.
Do you know the part numbers for those seals? I will go ahead and order some as spares.

Looks like it's a mistake to use moog ball joints on the 3rd gen runners due to suspension design. Glad to now know this as I have a fleet of them and be checking mine every 5k for play.
