What are 4 used Dunlops worth?

New member
After a few close calls last winter, I took this forum's advice and just replaced the Dunlop Grandtreks with Bridgestone Revos.

I now want to attempt to sell the Dunlops (approx 2,000 miles usage). Any idea what I should ask for them?

I have the same problem. Want to sell my Dunlops (1500 km = 1000 miles). Still none is interesting. Why Toyota gives these tires? And if you want to get rid of it, you couldn't. May be I'm asking too much ($500)?

I would not pay 5 bucks for a set....

I know. The point is to find someone who pays something for them. New Revos will cost me 1000 + Tax, so I thought half of it gets from Dunlops.
Ok, seriously, what is the value of 4 Dunlops?

I tried selling a set and posted $200 obo and had 0 emails. I ended up just putting them on my second set of rims till I NEED better tires, probably this winter. Try giving them away, you still may not have any takers tho.

eBay - good idea, but I don't have an account there. I'll try to ask some friend if they can put tires trough their accounts. Thanks guys.

Before you list them, you could search eBay and see if any have sold before.

Reasearch how much it will cost for shipping.... honestly they are not worth the shipping... plus your in canada right? So try for a local pick up type sale...

Do you have a Trading Bullentin board at work or somehting? Try to hock them locally first, use ebay as a last resort.. My local town has a "pennysaver" news paper and the adds are very cheap to place. You never know, some uneductated non T4R.org visiting 4Runner owner might be looking for a set of cheap tires...... who knows .. .somebody might actually like the dunlops...you never know.....I mean after all we are talking about Canadians..... eh?

OK, I just searched....there are 10 completed auctions and 2 in progress. None of the 12 have received any bids.

That should speak volumes about the value of the tires.
 
I'm interested in the Dunflops.

Anyone in the SoCal area want to get rid of a set?

Must be low mileage and not ever repaired.

I think UPS only charges $8 each

just wire a tag to them, no packaging needed; at least that's the way they arrive from Tire Rack

I'll pay $60 / each if you pay the shipping
assuming under 3K miles on them and no repairs.

Easy now, I just want four.

$8 shipping for each tire!!!!! WOW the last I ship one tire back to discount tire direct for warranty trough UPS it Cost me almost $30 even with co. like tire rack who get big discount from ups it cost them about $60 to $70 to ship 4 tire.
 
Yeah me too. Anyone in SoCal wanting to get rid of Dunflops for free send me a pm. I'll collect anywhere within 1hr of home (Venture/LA county line).

Thanks for the price update. That $8 was from 3 yrs ago...

I just yesterday sent an old computer cross country.
fed ex ground $16 and it was 36lbs.
those 265 17's probably weigh a lot more than that too.
 
Well... according to eBay, a set of 4 NEW Grandtreks is only $199 US (plus $100 for shipping), so it's barely worth the effort to sell a used set.

It's too bad I didn't discovered this forum *before* I bought my 4runner so I could have negotiated for better tires. This is one area where Toyota really dropped the ball and, strangely, I don't recall any of the numerous consumer reviews on the Edmunds or MSN Autos websites mentioning the crappy Dunlops.

Anyway, hopefully next winter will be less of a white-knuckle experience with the Revos.
