What are the recommended upgrades?

Guys, while I have spent alot of time here on the board since I got my 4th Gen, Im still a bit lost.

Sure i have the drop in filter and all that type of stuff, i really would like to know that has turned out to be the best few mods for the 4th gen. I really would like to get a brush guard but i dont know who are the best. I know i can find lights for it and all..as thats pretty easy.

Also, other than tires, im trying to think about whats really needed for some quality off road time...maybe another skid plate as the one on my truck looks liek a POS even from a bit of distance away. I know that there are some other companies out there that offer them.

I guess im not really looking for everyone to tell me EXACTLY what to get, but more of a guide...i guess it could be good for other newer members once they get past their comfort levels (which for me would be the performance side of things)

If you want some quality off-roading sliders are a must. These are bolt-ons. Besides protecting your vehicle they allow you to use a hi-lift jack easily.

How hard core do you want to get off-roading?

Sliders are excellent to have but can be pricey, but for general off-roading with logs and rocks they are almost a necessity. More hard core stuff would be a lift (prioritize this over the sliders if you want to maintain or increase the clearance underneath the vehicle), a winch, a brush guard with places to mount off-road lights.

inside - a GPS is a requirement. CB with high gain antenna is nice to have in areas where there is no cell coverage. Weathertech floor mats (or husky) keeps the mud off the carpet. Air compressor for the tires when you air down (also helps to have high pressure air to blow out debris from brakes and air filter).
