OK, so you know how in the the highway, whenever there is a dip in the road, either right at the base of the dip or slightly after the base of the dip, there is a darkening area in the road. It is not oil dripping or anything like that. Do you know what I am talking about? What are those???

It IS oil. As the vehicle travels across the bottom of the dip, that downward force pulls oil drips off those vehicles inclined to leak.

It is not just oil, but also a worn spot where idiots go too fast through the dip and when they bottom out, their skid, frame, oil pan, or whatever is closest to the bottom comes in contact with the pavement and over time creates a worn spot, highlighted with the oil.

It's asphalt or black tar mixed with used oil and rubber. If you run over it, it gets into your wheel wells and mudguards. PITA to clean.

That is job security for me ....That "slick" becomes the strong point of the road and the valley or void collects water in ANY climate....guaranteed road work for someone.

These areas just happen to HIGHLIGHT what grime and debri actually come off during commutes BUT also enforce why we "RECLAIM" the old concrete or asphalt before we lay new base and top coats....1) to help replenish the aggregrate used in the new material mixture but also 2) "CLEAN" up the sub-grade for the NEW asphalt to adhere too.

Sorry no sympathy for washing "IT" off your "TOY", I have to wash "IT" off my "Mack Office":wink2:....
