North Texas had a run on gas that started on Thursday and went through Sat when everyone took off for Labor Day. This caused a shortage and most gas stations in the DFW area are just now catching back up. In any case, when there WAS gas, it was $2.20-34.

Just returned from a 6 day trip from Chicago area to Hailey Idaho and back. Only run 87 Octane (not the 85 Octane that some western states sell).

Iowa City Area 8/30/17 $2.349 per gallon
Cozad, NE along I-80 8/31/2017 $2.399 per gallon
Rawlins, WY along I-80 8/31/2017 $2.869 per gallon
Arco, ID along US 20 9/1/2017 $2.879 per gallon
Columbus, MT along I-90 9/2/2017 $2.49 per gallon
Oacoma, SD along I-90 9/3/2017 $2.699 per gallon
Poynette, WI along I-39/90/94 9/3/2017 $2.659 per gallon

It seems as if the price of gas has risen somewhat during my trip. I was especially surprised at the prices of gas in Wyoming and Idaho. Not sure if the gas taxes are higher in these states or not, but the prices in these states were significantly higher than elsewhere.

If I quote $/L I know most of you will have no idea what I am talking about, so for simplicity... in gallons/USD..... Thursday afternoon: $3.18/gallon. Saturday morning: $3.63/gallon.

1 US gallon = 4 CDN liters

Right now we are $1.10 CDN per liter.
$1.10 CDN x 4 = $4.40 CDN
Now convert $4.40 CDN to US and it gives you $3.55 US

Works out you guys south of us all have cheap gas.

Not trying to be a smart ass but a gallon is 3.785L. $1.1/L would be more like $4.16/gal.

Here in South Carolina we usually have rather inexpensive gas compared to other states, 2 weeks ago I filled up with regular 87 octane for $1.88 a gallon, now since Harvey hit Texas and they shut down the eastward bound pipeline it's up by $0.45, on Friday the last I checked it was $2.33 a gallon, could be more now but won't know until tommorow when I go to work.

I imagine now with Irma churning towards the USA it will not go down any time soon!
