What blind spot mirrors do people use?

They are a direct swap , a blind monkey can swap them out in no time

Blind spot mirrors

I got a pair of 3" round stick-on spot mirrors. The fit the T4R mirrors quite well. About $6 on amazon.

I'm the Autozone $1.99 stick on variety. Used those since day one of driving. Mirrors set to just miss seeing down the side of my truck, spots on the outer lower corner of the mirror, no blind spots. Passenger side set slightly more down to see tires for parking.

My father and uncle were both semi truck drivers. Thus, I wasn't allowed to turn my head nor look back when backing up a trailer. Only by side mirror use. Freaks me out when I'm in the car and someone does the over the shoulder look back. Of course, those people think I never look when changing lanes. Give take? Haha!

Maybe this is why I enjoy the boat ramp so much? Pure 100% free entertainment.
 
Since some people seen to have a hard-on for the Rav4 mirrors .... I'll bite.

The mirror doesn't look very convex. What kind of field of view does it have? Can you see the entire lane and road next to you?
When off-roading wheel placement is key. Does the Rav4 mirror give you a view of the rear tire?
Also the proof is in the pudding. How about someone posting pics of the actual view (both mirrors) from the drivers seat and not just a pic of the mirror.

Amen! This is the way you do it! I've used this method for a long time, just like Ted. Why buy stick-on junk when your stock mirrors will work if you follow this method?

And I'll bite on this one. When your mirrors are set to see the lanes beside you, you can no longer look down the side of your own rig. To which you would say, "that's exactly what you don't want".

However, I tow Sea-Doos and other trailers on a fairly regular basis. Guess what that little convex $1.99 stick-on junk does for me? I can keep an eye on the trailer tires and back up without the head turn. Shorter trailers walk much faster so it's yuge to see what's up right away.

I also don't pull the over the shoulder back up method. I use the stick on junk. Oh, can can see just how far into the water I am when backing into the water. Trust me, big deal on Lake Mead. Shoot, you have to back in half way across the lake sometimes to launch.

As for the RAV4 comment. Yup, I'm going to spend $1.99 over $109.99 for something for me, works better. It's not about my MSRP. Plus I don't like the convex at the top of the mirror so there is that too.

As I said earlier, set the mirrors so you can just see the side of your rig. Then you still have backup capability as well as seeing what is in the passing lane. And, probably, one of the little round add-on mirrors could still show you your trailer wheels. - Ted
 
I have these on mine. they were pricey at $10 (O'rielly). I have used blind spot mirrors for years. It felt odd without them on the rig when I brought it home.

Do I want the RAV4 mirrors, oh you bet ya! But I could not pull the trigger after spending $40K on the rig, then turning around and immediately spending over $2000 on mods (SSO Slimline, SSO Sliders, Smitty winch, AVS bug and window deflectors, pedal commander, Burtman leveling spacers, etc). I decided it was time to STOP mods and let the finances recover.....

I ended up getting the Rav4 mirrors. My better half reminded me that on my old Jeep the aftermarket mirrors would collect snow in the CO winters. Since the 4Runner has heated mirrors I didn't want to loose that for the blind spot mirror. The Rav4 mirrors are heated and I won't have to worry about then collecting snow.

Around $100 was a little steep in my mind just to get a blind spot mirror, but I did get new heated mirror glass. If I look at the product as a whole is a good deal. I still have my old glass and can use them as a backup if one breaks.

I have a 2013 trail.. today I was behind a sienna van and they have the integrated little mirrors... I was staring at that mirror the whole time and it looks like it has he same shape or in fact he same frame. Anyone check on the glass if it would fit 2010-2013 like how the rav4 does to the 2014+. I tried searching but nothing came up.

I actually don't like the placement of the Rav4 blind spot mirrors. Would be better if they were at the bottom. Also, do Rav4s have heated mirrors? Can the generic stick-ons be used with heated mirrors?

Yes Rav4's have heated mirrors, love my Rav4 mirrors

Have these same ones, find they work better than the standard round style or the RAV4 mirrors. No denying the RAV4 mirrors are the cleanest of the bunch though, being oem.
 
RAV4 mirrors are a ++++ simple install, heating element works and best of all they work
