what can we use from the 5th gen

ok the only thing that excites me about the 5th gen is the parts.
i dont know which parts i can use. the rims and tires are a given.
i thought i would be able to install the 5th gen back door emclem garnish but i was wrong.
does any1 have any ideas of what us 4th gen owners can use

Someone thought that maybe we could use the side mirrors. I'd love to try, but have no idea how expensive they will be.

Yeah, and it might even have a longer delay for the intermittent wipers. I remember reading a few guys complaining about how short the delay time was and I agree with them.
 
Does anyone have any idea of the 5th gen wheel offset? I'm wondering if it's the same as the 4th gen, or maybe a bit more aggressive like the FJ and Tundra's offset.

I was thinking that a set of 17" FJ wheels would look really good on a 5th gen Trail, especially if it turns out the FJ wheels have a better offset than the OEM wheels on the 5th gen.

the limited is 20x7j aluminum offset 15
the trail is 17x7.5j aluminum offset 15

Have not really looked at the mirrors yet.
Are the mirrors on the 5th Gen the type that extend when towing?
If so, that is great. If not toooooo bad. The 4Runner really needs optional Towing mirrors.

No, they are color keyed though and have the turn signal on them. I like them.

But they appear smaller than the 4th gen mirrors. Can anyone confirm/deny? I love the size of the mirrors on my 4Runner....they are the biggest mirrors of any vehicle I've ever owned.
 
I dont know about any of you guys but I want the Party Mode on my 4th Gen. Thats really all I care about in the 5th Gen.:boink::guitar2::hiding:
 
Eh, that party mode button sounds kinda So Gay to me. If I had one in my truck I'd want my interior to instantly transform in a psychadelic swingers party.

party mode is a special audio setting that, according to Toyota, "raises the bass and transfers the equalization to the rear of the vehicle." This mode is designed to be used with the rear hatch open, placing emphasis on the rear speakers, for tailgating.

wow, i want this! i love my rear speakers for tailgates but having them in "surround sound mode" isn't optimal for this function. I'm jealous of this new 15 speaker system, although I'm not sure how they fit 5 more speakers in, whered they go? anyone know?

I'll have to look closer at this when I go for a test drive (when they arrive) to see if the shape of the stalk base is backward compatible. Would be nice to add the mist but in the meantime look through the links in my signature for the timing delay mod drmorbius help me pull off.
