I originally posted this in the classics section, but I think I will get more responses here. I went 4wheeling the other weekend and found some deep mud and water holes to play in. I know have looked into the things that could go wrong with crossing water and mud in a stock t4r.
Here is how high the water/mud was.
The differential can get water inside of it, which will cause issues down the road is my main issue. I'm going to extend the breather lines for both the front and back this weekend and hopefully drain the diff fluid.
What else should I look into. My t4r has been sounding like it has a scraping or humming sound in the engine. It gets louder when I accelerate. It sounds like it is coming from the belts. Is there something I can spray on there to grease it up? I really hope I don't have to take them apart and clean them.
About the diff breather, I read that the Nissan breather works well. Is this true for all t4r?
Any help would be great, seeing as I'm trying to make another trip out in a few weeks.
