What did everyone pay for their 4th gen?

$16k for Silver 06 4Runner SR5 4x4 with 69K

Got it in 2014.
Absolutely mint. One owner, who took hand written notes on the all the scheduled maintenance.
When I went to see it, the dealer had it on the rack changing out the frozen calipers (I'm assuming that's why they traded it in) So I got brand new brakes to boot.

I'm looking to join the 4runner club and would appreciate some guidance on this 4runner I found. It's a trade in to a Mercedes dealership and is going to auction soon but available to the public for "the opportunity to purchase these vehicles at near wholesale cost for a hassle free experience", their words. I have not seen the 4runner in person yet but this is the report they gave me:

It is a 2006 Limited with 93,845 miles. I'm not a mechanic. Are those mechanical problems significant? I'm planning on doing modifications to it for a lift soonish but it would have to be drivable until then. What kind of $ should I offer these people or expect to pay for it? KBB estimates $11,898 for a "fair condition" vehicle from a dealership.

I would see if they would let me take it to my own mechanic before making a final purchase.

I picked her up this weekend from AZ, I live in socal so it was a 14 hour drive round trip but well worth it! 06 Sport model V6 4x4 with 123,xxxmi for $13,900, came with some extra's bull bar, 265/70/17 Copper discoverers atp, tekonsha brake controller, hood deflector.

Most importantly it had a great maintenance history, no accidents, and it came from a state with no snow...

I would pass man, unless they are going to address all the problems with the vehicle before you purchase it.

Paid about 11k for my 2005 V8 limited with 135k. BUT, toss in the cost for headers and shocks, more like 12800

The 2006 Limited is one of the cleanest used vehicles I've seen with an impeccable service record. Both are 1 owner and from dealers.

I think it depends...what are you looking for? Its an 8k difference. You could do a lot with that? Is 8k worth half the miles and 2 years newer? Depends if you have service records.

I bought my 2008 SR5 V8 4x4 with 168k miles two years ago for 11k. It needed a timing belt and waterpump though, so I spent $500 on good parts for everything I did to it right up front. She's a beast though.

Ahhhhhhh I hate dealerships. Salesman says sure come test drive it tomorrow! Can I take it to my mechanic on my test drive? Sure! So I schedule with my mechanic, drive 1.5 hours to the dealership. They can't find the car. Oh, it's at the Toyota dealer getting the PCM reprogrammed. Also, it has another pending recall that won't be serviced until September so we can't sell it to you until then! Our bad. Sorry.

2006 4Runner Limited V8 for $8,500

paid $8,500 for a 2006 Limited V8. It has 202,000 miles on it but the owner had replaced the timing belt and waterpump.

However, I need to do some suspension work and get new tires soon. It should cost additional $2,000:shocked:
