What did everyone pay for their 4th gen?

man with all the bullshit i found wrong with this truck i should have only paid him like 3000 bucks lol...thank god i shopped around on CL, T4r, amazon, facebook, junk yards and ebay for all the parts i need.

Here is a list of the following parts i bought

set used hub bearing assy
set of front inner tie rods
set or outer tie rods
set of LBJ
new rotors all way around
new ceramic pads
ac blend door actuator
camburg UCA
FJ cruiser springs all around
bilstein 5100 all way around
day star 2.5/1.5 spacers
rear wiper
hood shocks
rear differ fluid
ATF fluid

later ill get my truck buffed, darker tint, double din radio with a stereo, viper alarm, and a projector retro fit with s2k and TL bixenon projectors.

toyota dealer told me i can get a new dash, and 2 more recalls can be fixed for free.

with all the above parts and labor a friend is hooking me up with. i should be in this thing total about 5800-5900 not including all the things i want to do later.

Yeaaah, I paid $10k for my V6 Sport 4WD with the knowledge that I wouldn't have to do much work to it (and I really haven't, other than a new radiator and CVs in the last 12k miles). My other car at the time was an unreliable money pit, and I needed a car that I could drive without something breaking.

This time last year I purchased my 2005 V6 Sport. 135000km (84000miles) one owner, dealer serviced. All it needed was a hand brake cable for inspection. $6000.00 No really bad rust issues but the tailgate is developing signs of rusting and I already replace the tailgate window regulator.

Purchased my 2007 Limited V8 4WD about 2 months ago. 107k on the clock. Paid $15,950.

Purchased my 2004 V6 4WD a few weeks ago for $6200, 128k miles, one owner vehicle. No major issues, just some minor maintenance stuff due to it sitting around. Previous owner wasn't using it much, so opted to sell and I was fortunate enough to get to test drive it first.

Looking at a 2008 SR5 w/ leather. One owner, clean, 75K miles.
Dealer is down to $15.5K

Based off of others purchased prices, it still seems quite a bit high.
This is down in Texas and I can't find another 4runner with those miles in that price range, but just curious what others thoughts are?

Is this a 4wd?
V6 or V8?

My guess is you won't get them down much lower and as you know you will have a hard time finding one with lower mileage at that price point unless you get lucky and buy from an owner that doesn't know the resell value of T4Rs and needs to sell fast.

No cash. The thought was just to have a useful SUV that is dependable and can do anything that I need "suburban warrior".

Pay it down for 1 to 2 years and try to get out of it without losing much if any at all.

Would like a newer Jeep or a Honda Ridgeline (flame suit on...) but I don't like paying full MSRP and depreciation, so i'll let them go down on price for a year or two while I drive the 4runner.

Yeah, I didn't think I'd be able to get them down too much more, just wanted owners advice.
I'm really not experienced in getting cars delivered and/or buying without touching/feeling/driving/etc. So I could travel anywhere in Texas, but outside of that I just don't think I could get it done.

Can't trust BMW people. I'm one [emoji14]. It depends on your long term plans for the truck. I had mine for 4 years. And I'm one to get rid of a vehicle after 2k miles. I was about to rid of it. But I saw I wouldn't get much for it. And what realistically is cool enough to replace it with. Therefore I changed the entire look and now I love it that much more. My plan is to rack on the miles. Realistically, I think it's worth 11.5k at most. Low miles aren't always a positive. Have records?

With that platform, it will last forever. My plan is to move on eventually as my daily and just keep this for stuff like bad weather, airports, home depot ect. It's a timeless truck. And it will always have a need.

If you going to have it financed you'll be paying way more than it's worth on the long run at the price it's at now.

BUT

If you have never own a T4R before and get good one you'll never think about wanting Jeep or Ridgeline again IMO!!

If it's in mint condition and you love it and plan to keep it awhile, it's ok to spend a little more IMO. If you get a good deal on one but it's beat up and needs alot of work it's not a good deal.
