Before the 4Runner, I drove a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. It was actually a pretty fun car to drive with the supercharged 3.8L. But I like to go hiking, and getting to trailheads in that car was a nightmare.


In the past few months I've been working on a 1990 Suburban. It had been sitting for 6-7 years, and bought it from my wife's family. It's been a fun project to work on (and get running again), and I just put a 4" BDS lift on it.

‘06 350Z lowered, RPF1 wheels, Jim Wolf intake, Tanabe exhaust and a few other goodies. I do miss the car but had no room to keep it and the 4runner.

I had a few fun cars but my favorite was my restored 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo. Slight mods to 230hp/tq.

I've had several cars, but only been driving for about 9 years.

First car: 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT (5spd) it was a fun, great first car. (sold) (owned for 1 year)

Drove it for a year, sold it, got a 350z (sold) (owned for 6 years)

Got rid of the Z and took over my sister's 1998 Jeep (dad owned since new)
(still have it)

Picked up a 2012 Civic to DD (owned for 2.5 years) (sold)

Needed two wheels, so I got a 2016 Yamaha FZ-07 (owned for 1.25 years) (sold)

Sold the Civic for the 4Runner and married my wife who had a 2004 Tacoma (still have)

2014 F150 FX4, loaded and low mileage. Daughter recently turned 1 and I decided that even though the truck was great, I needed something less expensive but still dependable so I could save more money for her. I drive roughly 10k miles a year, so the 4Runner should last me a while

price of repair was zero in money, one week minimum in time

The 4Runner's straight through conventional planetary gears trans was a factor.

Recently sold a 2007 Audi RS4 to buy my house.

I still have a 94' RX7, 99' 4 cylinder manual 4runner, and an 07' Acura TSX.

In the past I had a 93' Corolla (first car), 99' v6 4runner, 94' Maxima SE (first manual car), and an 04' S2000.

4Runner has always been a consistent car I've been able to depend on. The S2000 is hands down the best drivers / fun car I've ever owned. I might be eyeing a BRZ or a GT350 down the road after I off load a few cars after I pick up my 4th gen this week.

I've had quite a few vehicles, the most recent being a 2007 Dodge Ram. Owned that for about 5 years before moving to the Runner. Dodge gets a bad rap, but it was honestly a damn good truck for me. Put just over 110,000 miles on it as the 3rd owner and it was running strong when I sold it.

My wife drove a 2014 Dodge Durango for about 8 months before we got rid of that POS for a 5th gen Runner. Couldn't be happier with Toyota...also, in my humble opinion the current generation Durango is garbage. Like I said, I've owned a lot of vehicles and that's the only one I ever was excited and relieved to sell.

I 32 years old I’ve owned 5 cars. 1990 Honda prélude si 4WS 5 speed ( bad little car in its day)Then 3 Tacoma’s 99, 2005(totaled) and 2002. All 4 bangers all 5 speed all roll down windows. The 4Runner feels like a Gwagen. Still miss my Tacoma sometimes.

My first car was a '90 GP, but sadly wasn't the turbo version. I believe mine was loaded other than that, with all the buttons on the steering wheel and the compass display. Have any pics of the GP?

Not Mine but same thing...It Became a Absolute Pile of electrical Problems. Also at Stop Lights the Tach would start Jumping all Over the Place and the Motor would Die. Electric Fans went out on Me on a 118 degree Day in Phoenix in Bumper to Bumper Traffic and Temp guage was Maxed out. Had to turn on Heat to get temp to go down. Never Ran the Same after that. Traded it for the ‘99 Taco.
