What did you drive before your 4Runner

here is a pic of my 99 chevy silverado...5.3l procharged, cammed, dynatech LT headers cat-back borla... over 500hp to the wheels....so anyway i was headed to work around 5:30ish in the morning and an 18 wheeler ran me off the road and i rolled it... 18 wheeler just kept on going like nothing ever happened

Pathfinder

My last ride was a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder. My Runner is way better in every way possible.

I drove a 2002 CR-V, which I still have until I sell it, and the 4Runner is everything it wasn't. I can't stand being in the CR-V these days--still drive it a bit to the shop, car wash, etc., until it gets sold. Biggest complaints about the CR-V are crappy rear vision zones and crappy legroom. I'm a lanky 6'2" and the 4Runner fits like a glove. Maybe if I were 260lbs I'd want some more hip room, but I'm not a fatty.

Last car-Subaru WRX--Loud catless exhaust, professionally dyno tuned, yada, yada. Really fast, great handling and damn fun. Unbelievable in the snow with a set of Blizzaks, rock solid reliable (didn't do crap to it except routine maintenance and it had 150k when I sold it). I got sick of the premium fuel and the 5 speed stick in traffic every morning, but the 4R has a lot to live up to!

First was my mom's VW rabbit '82, then bought my work truck toyota pick-up '87, wich i still drive with 300,000 and still running, then '95 Trans Am for me and my wife, wich i sold and replace with my '02 4r sport edition, i still miss my trans am.

how did you like the jeep?

not a fan of the eyelids or whatever you call them and the tinted lights... otherwise, the interior is siq and the black wheels are nice, way cheaper than getting aftermarket wheels and probably much safer... aggressive. thx for sharing! your 4R inspired me to lift mine. thx for that too.

Used to run a 2001 Isuzu Vehicross Ironman edition. The VX was tons of fun to drive, good quick and agile on-road and very good on moderate trails . . . .but putting a second car-seat in her was a no go. Just putting the first one in sort of bent the laws of physics. She was also starting to develop issues at 120K; Toyota longevity the Isuzu did not have. One of only 4000, she was a pain to find parts and mods for as well.

I'm not sorry to have owned it; she was a beast and I'll miss her. But after driving the T4R I can't say I'd go back

I drove a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT Off Road Edition. 3.0L 6 and 5 speed manual. Just a basic truck and was the best thing I ever drove! The 'Runner's growing on me since it's my first Toyota ever. Has some personality quirks but starting to get those worked out. This thing could easily out turn my Ranger but can't haul anything near as much with the 22re in it hauling around a lot of weight in just the 'Runner alone. I'm still on the fence, but not too bad so far.

Jeep was wicked fast...terrible on reliability. Glad I got rid of it actually.

First I had a 1998 Pathfinder LE, is only had a pioneer head unit, a pioneer 12'' woofer and a custom made exhaust.

Then I got a 2008 Toyota Prado VX, thats when the toyota addiction started, in that suv I had the same sound system im running now in my 4R, it also had HID, a siren and some emergency lights.

Had a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited (4.0). When I traded it in, it was in excellent condition (visually speaking, but I did try to keep on top of issues). Economy was abysmal, reliability was a joke, driving it was a pain (swishy handling). So glad I got rid of it........ I never get a Jeep again. (YES, I said never)
