What did you pay for your alignment?

Hey, so I just replaced my lower ball joint and tie rod on the drivers side, and my alignment is definitely off. Don't want to risk the DIY method as I do a lot of highway driving out to the mountains to play so I want as stable and straight tracking a ride as I can get.

Just wondering what you guys paid to get yours done, and if they quoted how long it took them to do it. I'm always skeptical of shops and want to be able to smell any BS. My regular mechanic is pretty busy atm, and I don't feel like waiting to get it in just for an alignment.

Thanks

take it to a good well known store to do things such as balance and aligments. i'd take it to a discount tire/goodyear/NTB/ type store and have them do the aligment...should run around 70-80 bucks

I think I paid $90. Total rip. And I don't think they did a very good job. Oh well. Live and learn. :repuke:

i paid $140 for life time alignment and got a detailed print out as well at firestone , if your going to a chain store i'd consider that as 2 alignments and it's payed for it's self, and already has since i've been pulling coils off and on for the last month or so.

$75 at the only shop in town that would touch a susspension altered alignment. Only a 1yr warranty but happy with it and it saved my tires.

Same here...but I think mine was $120 for the lifetime...they run discount on the lifetime too sometimes.

x3, firestone lifetime. I've been to them 4 times so far.. not becuase of bad work though. 2 after lift (day of, 500mi after), others after offroading and messing it up.

wow..i hope they using the best equipment also? thats pretty good next time ill check out the dealership

Yup I actually contacted two separate dealerships in Iowa, both quoted me the exact same price. $49 and tax. Only took about an hour and they did a great job!

I'll have to go to Firestone and look into the lifetime alignment. I'm sure my other ball joint will go eventually, and I plan on getting to the uppers come summertime along with a Tundra brake swap, so I'm sure I'll get my moneys worth in no time.

I got a laser alignment thrown in for free with a new set of 265/75r16 Michelin LTX M/S2s at the Toyota dealer for $800. They only use Hunter Road Force tire mounting/balancing and alignment machines, I thought that was a good deal considering the high end tires and equpiment. Rolls better than ever now.

Normally I pay $50, but when I took the 2001 in after the lift they charged $80 because of the extra time it took to get it dialed in... and it really did take extra time. I've been going to the same place for almost 10 years and I go out in the bay and chat with the guy while he's working on my 'runner. This time took an hour and 15 minutes, and usually he knocks them out in 30-40 minutes. He really spent some time trying different things and explaining to me what my options were.

The $80 was well spent, because after a few weeks it settled and was out of spec again... I went back and they dialed it in perfectly for free.

Just took my 4runner to this small shop here on the northside Tucson called Fletchers, great place great people. I came in for a $60 alignment and walked out with free alignment for a year and 12, yes 12 oil changes all for $120 bucks.
I told him I'd be replacing my ball joints and cv's next month and switching to coilovers and he says no problem, bring it in anytime within a year from now and alignment is free.

Drive over here to Brownsville, TX. I have a friend at a dealership i used to work for and he charges a 18 pack of millerlite. :bluejump:
