What diff is this

I foun this sitting inside a 95 runner at the junkyard. It has 4.56s and a locker. Was hoping someone could tell me what diff it is.

I'm confused, what do you mean "what diff"? It's a Toyota 8" axle housing and differential.

Didn't think it was to hard of a question. There are multiple Toyota diffs I was asking if someone could identify it

if its got a stock e locker its probably out of a 3ed gen.

Don't some of the later 2nd gens have the ABS wiring coming off the top of the 3rd? The actual locker motor mounts to the driver side of the 3rd IIRC.

It's not an elocker. That is a sensor of some sort. Either speed or abs

This is a stock open v6 diff. You can tell because of the carrier.

are you telling me they came stock with lockers and 4.56s?

Its most likely out of a 3rd gen and someone swapped the gears in it.

I cant tell from pics if it has a locker in it or not,have you pulled the cover on front to see if it has 4.56s to.

It's not a locker. Someone on ttora said that's just how the v6 carriers looks. But the front is still attached to the truck so I haven't checked. But I would assume they are matching.

I know it's a v6 carrier but look close inside it could have a lock rite in there and you not know it with out looking closely. If they did the gears f/r, maybe they added a rear locker.

2nd gen runners also came in 488 stock. how do i know. i have two front IFS diff with factory 4.88 in them...

the picture is a 2nd gen v6 diff. cant tell if it has a mechanical locker. i know for sure its not a elocker (some of you guys never seen an elocker before it seems) 2nd gen runners came in 4.10, 4.30. 4.56. and 4.88 factory gears. the plug on top is just a speed sensor for ABS. you can just remove the wiring and leave the sensor in place so oil doesnt come out or buy an aftermarket plug. i think TG sells them

This is correct. It is a v6 carrier non- e locker. Nor does it have a mechanical locker.
