Probably means that your memory battery in your vehicle's ECU has reached its life expectancy. It has a battery much like your computer, wrist watch, etc.....which remembers the critical information of your vehicle systems. My question to you would be have you ever allowed this vehicle to sit over a significant amount of time w/o or with a dead battery? This action could have cause preliminary draining on your ECU's internal battery. Hopefully, you will NOT have to replace the complete ECU system.

Nope, it's never sat for more than a few days. Does anyone know if the battery is replaceable? Where IS the ECU located?!?!

Thanks!

The ECU is usually located inside the vehicle above the glove box area on most vehicles. On some vehicles it is mount on the inside of the firewall area.....at any case you should be able to find a chilton repair book for you model year truck from an auto parts store pretty cheap.

Also.........as last resort----you could always purchase on from a wrecking yard from a truck with the same engine as yours.
