What do the DEALERS use to shine the tires on their lots?

What ever it is, I like it. Can someone tell me what it is and where to buy some?

I detailed for a few years and they just used good ole' Armor All!

I read on some detailing forum that Armour All can damage rubber over time unless you use it frequently due to the silicone in it. I also read that it will cause your tires to turn brown faster. I haven't paid close enough attention to my tires when I used armour all in the past, but now that I don't on my new cars, no more brown. I use the stuff from Zaino or the Endurance from Meguiers. They both shine well and last a long time.

It depends on how you want your tires to look. For a long time I used Eagle Wet, because I liked the shiny tire look but then decided to change back to Armor All for just a nice black tire look without so much gloss. There are so many tire products out there and so little difference between them. Whatever you pick, just make sure it isn't any of the colored crap...

Well, thats just it. Dealers just want the tires to be a deep non glossy black color. If you keep your tires clean and use Armour All then they will never turn brown. I've almost always used Amour All on mine and never have my tires broken down or turned brown. Just keep them clean. ie. once a week washing and you'll have no problems.

I use Eagle Wet as well, but I apply a thick coat of it before washing the car. This washes the loose tire shine stuff off, and leaves the tires black (but not glossy) and prevents the crap from spraying back up onto your paint.

My father had a dealership back in the 50's 60's and they used
brake fluid. May not be a good idea these days.
