i have to say the worst thing is holding onto the bad memories. i kept the good ones (some paintings she made, that dont really make me think of her)

and then i took all the other stuff that reminded me of her that i had, went to the desert, and blew the nonsense out of it with my shotgun.

totally relieved stress. haha.

but theres one thing i cant get rid of. she drove a jeep. so now everytime i see a jeep that looks like hers she pops in my head.the sad part is we broke up and stopped contacting over a year ago. but we did date for 2 years. im pretty much over her now. but that first 6 months suuuucked. grrrrrr. :bash:

btw... screw jeeps. :nono:

It depends on how the relationship was:

I would get drunk with buds and try to get over IF the relationship was doomed and I didn't really have any true feelings about her anymore. Alcohol is a depressant, we all know that. After that night, if you still have feelings, you will have had let your buds know the entire night until you have no buds anymore. Before you know it, you wake up alone in a bush in a random's front yard the next morning with nothing but change in your pocket(NOT a personal story)

I would go f some random **** in the club/bar IF I were trying to make it onto the nonexistent(hopefully) season 5 of Jersey Shore while simultaneously contracting a fun new STI. Have some class. Please raise your hand if you have ever picked up a girl from the club and been proud the next morning. Most of the time, it hits you on the cab ride home and you have to pull that, "I'll be right back, I gotta get my toothbrush" BS.

I would do nothing IF wait this is dumb, you gotta do something

This last one can be percieved in two ways, so I have split it into two answers:

I would try to get back WITH HER IF I think it was all just a big misunderstanding, another dumb fight and I could see myself maybe being with this girl for some time. Instead of breaking up, this is where a break is good. You both take a break to see what else is out there and to get some space from each other. If it was meant to be, as the old adage goes, then it will be.

perception two:

I would try to get back AT HER IF <s>she was an immature, horribly spoken, mistake from the moment her dad seduced her mother and she deserved it</s> Never, karma will hunt you down . . .

2x^. i was just in the same boat. me and my girl of 5 years broke up. it was very hard at first but we both knew we needed a little break. well its been almost 5 months now and we statred getting back together a couple weeks ago. its working out very good so maybe a break is all u really need.

like everyone said. you travel and buy the things you couldnt when she was around. mine left me after 7yrs and is slump busting all over town with any guy that says hi to her. if thats what makes her happy than....whatever.
i bought a house, Nuggets season tickets, and fixed my truck up.
win for me

despite what you think you still have a gf (your truck).. and she costs more than your ex ever did!!

Single is better. Don't have to worry about nagging, whining, fighting, yelling, $$, anniverseries, remembering dates, dedicated time, answering q's they don't wanna hear the answer to, making special time, etc etc. Of course there are good things but I'm trying to make ya feel better here :D.

If I had to take a guess you're younger, so take advantage of being able to do all the things you young whipper snappers can. Time heals the broken heart and if I were you I would hang out with your buds as much as ya can until that crappy feeling goes away. Summer is here, time for camping with the bros and 4wheel events to go out to to put that runner in use. Beer is obviously included.

and just remember.. don't sweat the petty stuff and don't pet the sweaty stuff.

ARKRWLR has a good point about summer. Every summer when I start heading to the beach I kind of wish I was single. Beautiful girls in bathing suits and mini skirts all over the place. To be single again...

It sucks for the first 2-4 months depending on how long you were dating this girl, how serious it was and what type of break up. Just hang out with your friends, take up a hobby (welding) and enjoy not having any commitments this summer.

What the hell are yall talking about, 'fix the 4runner up' and 'do all the things you wanted to do to your 4runner'?!? I never broke up with a girl and got a check for my pain and suffering? Why would breaking up net you a ton of money to spend on the 4runner?? Did I miss a crappy girlfriend government stipend from obama???

check out my new girlfriend

i know this game. I was dating a girl for 4 years. We were living together for 3 of those 4 years. We had a english bulldog named Chubs, (he was awesome) Long story short, i wasn't completely happy, neither was she, she ended it in Feb of 2010, she ended it, but it was kinda mutual since i wasn't happy either(although she didn't really know that)

It took several months to realize it was the best thing for her and for I. It's been a year and 3 months or so, but, i'm better off. I haven't talked to her since last may, so it's been right around a year since i talked to her. I hope she is doing well, but, i think it will need to be a few more years till i talk to her.

After the break up, i went out with my boys every fri and sat night. It was awesome. Had so much fun, got really really drunk every weekend last summer, the binge lasted for easily 4 or 6 months. Great times with my boys. Of course, when you are out with your boys, girls are going to come along, so getting some strange is of course a good idea too.

I met a girl last summer, and we started dating in october. She is pretty awesome, and posses a lot more qualities that i'm looking for in a significant other than my last girlfriend.

I'd say don't worry about "not finding someone else" or being afraid to be back on the market. There are plenty of chicks out there, initially i was afraid that i wouldn't be able to find a chick who knew or understood me, but, not only did i find that, i found someone better.

Also, i spent a lot of time in the gym. That makes chicks want you too. As far as booze, beer has a lot of calories, which is bad when you are working on your 8 pack abs. Check out vodka and cranberry, or my personal choice of vodka and soda water, also vodka and red bull as the night gets later and later.

good luck bro

ha...im sure the Obama staff is working on this but...i had so much extra money since we werent going out on 'dates' and stuff. gifts, food, trips all very expensive. instead of using my money on things to do with her or on her i was able to finally use it on me.
i should get a check in the mail, i think she owes me a few grand.

thats why you make her get a job. hahahahahaha j/k.
:frisky:

Yea, after we date for over a month, I sit them down to have the financial bread discussion. 50/50 or hit the road. I'm not a nazi about it either. We both just pay every now and again and no large purchases unless we are engaged(highly unlikely in my current situation)
