4Runners are great trip vehicles, I love taking long trips. Just make sure you are up to date on your maintenace.

2000 miles times 18mpg avg @ 3.50/gal for gas = $389 ouch!

Just took mine 1000 Miles Round trip 1 week after getting it and I've got 156k now. Only thing I would worry about is the timing belt and water pump. I'm hoping those have been changed though somewhat recently. I'm super paranoid about overheating so that would be on my mind 24/7 if it hadn't been changed in a while. If your battery is good, Alternator has been changed somewhat recently, and your boy's will throw down on that gas money, DO IT no question!

When I told my buddies I was doing a 6000 mile road trip in my 4Runner last year, they were surprised and said it would never make it, but when I ask why they couldn't say. I've been doing 12,000 miles each year commuting, so why would some highway driving be any worse? Think of it this way... a 2000 mile trip is basically exactly the same as 6-7 full tanks that you would normally be driving day to day without concern, except on your trip there will be less warm up and cool down cycles. This trip is probably better for you car!
