What does everyone keep in their 4Runner on a day-to-day basis?
I always have:

Glove Compartment:
insurance and registration cards
flashlight
First Aid Supplies
-band-aids
-Gauze
-Tape
-rubbing alcohol
-CPR mask
-aspirin
-Tums
-Benadryl
Various CDs

Elsewhere:
Umbrella (in driver seat pocket)
GPS (stuck to windshield)
Jumper Cables, Power Inverter, Flares, Adjustable Wrench (Rear storage compartment)

What about everyone else?

Ratchet Straps (for the roof basket)
GPS (in addition to the factory GPS)
MANY flashlights (wind up flashlights, LED Maglite etc...)

If I am off-roading/camping add:

Jerry Can(s) with 5 gallons of fuel each

And my survival backpack is always in the car, here is a list of whats in it from another thread

Here is the stuff I carry in my survival bag/BOB. The bag I use is a Large North Face Terra 60 (I think the actual capacity is 64L).

My pack is pretty heavy. With the 6ish liters of water I am usually looking around 50lbs.

I guess its because I'm one of the boring people who doesn't go off-roading (yet) that I have only a meager wrench and flashlight.

I'm trying to get some more portable EMS stuff, like a small O2 tank and a manual suction, and, if I can find one cheap and working, an AED.

And lets not forget my trusty AAA card

I always try to be prepared. I have actually used a lot of the random things I carry more than you would think. Or want to, for that matter .

Also being in Southern California lots of the things inside double as an earthquake kit.

Also, being in So. Cal, you are in practical driving range of places to go off-roading. We in the northeast have no such luxury, and therefore have no need to be stocked for it.

This is also very true, I have been known to decide to go wheeling on nothing more than a whim, so it is good to always have most if not all my gear with me.

All good stuff so far! Here is a pic of what I carry in my homemade organizer on a daily basis, just the basics. That is a safety seal off road tire repair kit in the zip lok bag to make it fit in the box. I have 2 3/4" shackels in the jack compartment as well as a 4D cell maglight and umbrella, gloves and misc other stuff.

For outings I would carry an array of wrenches and ratchets/sockets as well as the MV50 compressor. Wish the 4R had some more room to store that type of stuff on a daily basis as well, but I guess since I have the factory subwoofer taking up the pass side storage compartment that is the price I have to pay.
