What do you pull with yours?

Just wondering. My 1996 2WD, 3.4 has not yet failed me. It's at 97K miles now. The boat weighs 3500 lbs dry.

i wouldnt be too concerned pulling something like that, my concern would be trying to stop it once you have it going. the brakes on the T4R seem to be marginal at best IMO, so im not really too interested in towing anything more than a small boat, or ski doo or something like that.

I just got back from my 1st towing experience with this vehicle:

Mastercraft ProStar. Somewhere in the 2000+ range (not sure), but the tank was empty.

Anyways, I was really impressed with how well she did, especially going over the mountains. I had previously pulled it with a v6 Land Cruiser and this v8 engine had NO trouble getting up those hills at 75 mph. My brakes are coming up on 30k, so I was pretty careful on the downhills, but everything felt great.

Anyways, just wanted to share that with any prospective 4th gen owners...towing is a no-brainer with the v8.

I tow my r/v (25 feet close 28 open, rear slide out)for about 10 000 KM, no problem. Very good truck

26' Trailer ...weighs at least 6500lbs probably alot more when loaded. Tow's fine / brakes aren't an issue (electric trailer brakes help alot) Gas mileage pulling it is about 8mpg although I do have a lead foot !!

I just removed the hitch in hope for a little more MPGs since I don't have anything to tow right now it was just dead weight.

right now not much because I just had back surgery. basically just from shore. its fun and a good way to relax. but I want a boat to cruise and I want to venture into maybe some big game. but I still have a lot to learn.

My only towing experience so far was jacking the front wheels of a 1990 honda accord on a dolly and trailering it 150 miles. The highlight of that experience was purchasing a set of magnetic trailer brake lights for the honda, using them for the haul, and then returning them when i was done! haha

Mine is not too big, a pop up camper. 1,550 pounds and about 2,100 pounds fully loaded. I took it out West to S.D., Montana and then to Yellowstone, WY. It did well and we encountered no problems towing.
