Take it off every time. A step stool, 6” long 1/4” Allen in my cordless drill and it’s off and hung up in my garage in under 10 minutes.

My rack gets most of its use during college football season. I put most of my tailgating stuff up there. Tables, chairs, canopy, cornhole boards, etc. The only thing I ever put inside is my portable Camp Grill, my cooler, and the food. Someday I'll take her camping and load everything up on the roof but for now she's my party vehicle.
I used to mount my bike racks up there but I ended up buying 1 up rack which took over that duty because loading bicycles onto the roof of a lifted truck sucks.

That hanger in the garage is nice. I guess I wouldn't really have a reason to take mine off since I fish year round, but good to know it's a lot easier with a cordless, I stupidly installed it by hand on both the 04 and the 18. [emoji23]

Love my rod vault and it makes a handy place to mount my maxtrax also. I use three cut down ratchet straps and attach the maxtrax to it so I have more space on my roof rack for other gear. I am jealous about fishing, I have to go about 3 1/2 hours before I get to anything decent.
