It sure seems alot of people are hoping Obama fails which is a sad commentary on those Americans since if he fails we all fail.

Imagine the constant scandal threats that would've plagued a McCain presidency with Palin by his side which we all should be able to see she definetly wasn't ready for that VP position.

If the GOP fully backs her in '12 then I think Obama can feel comfortable at the White House for 4 more years.

It's just sad that Obama has to deal with the mess Bush left behind.

And, btw, it sure seems like Obama is a bit "green" for a president...i sure hope that he shows more "stuff" in the near future because he is showing his inexperience....

BTW i'd disagree, Obama has gotten a lot done in his short time as president. I guess it just depends on which 'side' you are on. I'm still uneasy about the bailout though, but i'll give it some time before i knock it. There are definitely alternatives to the plan.

Much of what Obama has done is routine for a new president...he has made his "mark" on small minor issues. He has pretty much avoided major issues up until now with the stimulus package.

And i love his plan on closing Guantanamo bay...no real plans or alternatives, just verbage! Maybe some of obama's supporters would like to house the terrorists in their backyard! I am 100% for this! I am sure that Khalid Shaikh Mohammed would love to come to the US and play around in our backyard! As someone has pointed out, Obama has place "hope ahead of reality." :bash:

Well, if they are allowed to come into the US, then these terrorists will have access to our court system. Hmm, can you imagine Khalid Shaikh Mohammed doing the "OJ Simpson" fiasco?? I can. Do you want your tax dollars going to that?! Hell, he can claim that he cripples US economy by simply showing up in court!

BTW, the "shady" practices at Gitmo may explain why we have not had another 9/11 on our shores. Look around you...look at our allies in Europe and look at how many terrorist acts have occurred to them. I am very thankful to be in the US of A. Well i think utilizing our court system is a good thing. Is it not possible that at least one of these people are being wrongly held/accused? A fairer trial in the U.S. can't hurt. I'm just saying we can't be telling other countries what to do when we have something like Guantanamo. Not that we can even without Guantanamo, but it's a step. Do you honestly think that liberals or conservatives would like terrorists to roam the streets or be released? Not a chance. It is okay to take Rush to task for what he says, no doubt about that. Just be certain to get the whole quote in context regarding what was said by Limbaugh about Mr. Obama "failing" as President.

The so-called 'mainstream media' are well-known for misquoting people and spreading dis/misinformation......but they really dropped the ball on what Limbaugh said. They quoted one or two sentences out of two or three paragraphs of comments.

Sad - but typical of them, I guess.


President Obama is going to have a tough four years ahead of him - obviously - but at least he has a "friendly" Congress with a majority of members belonging to his party. Out of that majority, a rather significant number are leftist/liberal; so it is not likely that the GOP will really be able to put up much resistance to a neo-socialist agenda.

Let the chips fall where they may and we'll see what happens. I was not impressed with Bush, and I definitely did not vote for Obama. That being said, I am going to see what he'll do and how close he will follow the US Constitution. Unfortunately, he'll probably show it the same disrespect as so many others (in both parties) inside the Beltway have during the past few decades.


I wonder where the turning point will be when the sheeple will finally stop trying to "blame Bush" for everything. The truth is that the legislative branch is more of a threat to our economy and our liberty than George W. Bush or Barack H. Obama.

With two (possibly three) US Supreme Court vacancies coming up during the next decade, nominees & eventual appointees could shape the future of our nation and whether or not we will even have a Constitution fifty years from now.

Since october 2001, 775 were brought to Gitmo following the war. As of today, about 420 have been released with no charges, paranoid accusations.

Of those still incarcerated, U.S. officials said they intend to eventually put 60 to 80 on trial and free the rest.

Back in June, Boumediene v. Bush ruled that the prisoners were entitled to the protection of the CONSTITUTION of the United States.

I think this place does more harm than good.

If there was a huge prison where americans were being held for suspected terrorism and tortured, mistreated, etc. You would be all over the closing. And guess what the other country would say? Those americans are no good, they don't deserve to be released.
